bad leak on metal engine water pipe

hi i have a mk2 golf gti 8v and the metal water pipe as a bad leak soon as i put some water in header tank it runs stright out i have orderd new pipe but heater is blowing cold all the time now is this causing the heater to blow cold or as the matrix broke and if so is there a thred on here to replace the matrix thank you

sort the leak out first and bleed the system.

fixed the leak cut the pipe and put a peace of flexi hose in its place couple of jubilee clips and all toasty hot again now
