I've read the original post wrong...

Chains don't need changing as far as I'm aware, the Leon is a belt.
Seat did my Leon FR last summer, as well as the water pump for £380.

An indi would do it a bit cheaper but the belt costs about £200 itself I think
Renewed the belt on my Leon TDI a month or so ago. It was treated to a full service, all filters and fluid change was an expensive month in parts alone. :lipsrsealed:
IIRC, Belts by itself was about £40, belt kit inc belt and tensioners and guides was about £100, water pump was about £60. All genuine parts from VW TPS.

Seems like I've read the parts cost bit wrong too. I'll shut up!!

Guessing there will be some kind of tensioner that will need replacing?

As a rule, chains don't require replacement, should last lifetime of the car

so chain won't be needing change but belt will?  the manual that came with the car says 90K kms, check 'belt' (I think this is the corresponding term, it's in freakin' greek).  could please someone check your English version and let me know what the 60k miles service is all about?
