Head gasket gone need guidance on what car value now is cheers

It's a 51 plate 5door black tdi 130 158k
Totally standard apart from Coilovers
Heated seats full black leather interior
And the squirts for headlights.

Basically did a headgasket test and it failed
Drives ok just loses water slowly so after say 4-500miles
I will need to add some water. Once or twice has started to blow cold air and over heat.
All I've been doing is pulling over let it cool down top her up again

Also how much should I be looking at to get it repaired cheers all

 Probably looking in the region of £800 to get it repaired properly! Really labour intensive job for a mechanic which is why the cost is always high. It is usually a couple of hundred notes for the head to be skimmed, then there is the new gasket and bolts etc which usually costs around 100 quid and the rest is labour and a cheap rate of is 50 quid an hour.

I would stop driving it before you pull water through the cat and fcuk that up as well.
I feel your pain mate as it happened to an old Bmw which was only worth 1500 quid but the repair cost was worth paying as the rest of the car was mint.

I got quoted 650-750 which in happy to pay as the car is in very good condition.

On another note steel seal gasket sealer on eBay 30quid good reviews worth a try???

All the symptoms are there for me too... Cars been off the road for 3 weeks now starting to strip it down tomorrow and hopefully get it back up and running again going to give it a good clean out internally stems Ect. Looking forward to it the head set cost 67.20 and the head bolts cost 18.00 going to do the water pump timing belt and tensioners also to save doing it later possibly not until I have tested the head tho as it would be a waste of money!

if you do it yourself itll cost about £330 as the timing belt kits are about £120, £80 for pressure test and skim, £30 for a vw headgasket (make sure you get the one with the right number of marking holes) then £70odd for all the remaining gaskets, headbolts and the camshaft seal and £30 odd for a waterpump which you may as well do wile your at it. it took me about 3 evenings to do mine
ps. also while your at it clean out your inlet manifold, egr inlet and cylinder head valve inlets, you can also do the valve stem seals and re-lap the valves if you should really want to
