Xmas present to myself - MK6 GTi
« on: 26 December 2012, 16:47 »
Hi all,

I treated myself on Xmas Eve to a year old GTi DSG 3 door - hope to collect this weekend. It's metallic black, and has quite a few goodies (Monzas, sunroof, leather, sat nav, park assist, front and rear sensors etc). Shame it doesn't have DAB as I listen to that a lot in my current car.

Test drive was only 20 mins, but loved the DSG box. I've been driving grunty diesels for the last 5 years, and at the lower revs the GTi didn't feel as 'alive' as I expected, but once the revs got going it started to fly. Anyway, I hope if done the right thing! If I get bored in a year I'm planning to get my Bluefin re-programmed for the Golf.

I take it using Wonder Wheels is a no-no on the alloys? I've read a lot about the white worming and I'm keen to avoid!

Cheers, Noel.

Wonder wheels is the work of the devil, check out the detailing section or the Waxamomo forum for info. They also offer a forum discount. Keeping on top of ya wheels is like the paintwork, get it cleaned and get it sealed.
