Window Problem
« on: 25 December 2012, 07:33 »
My Driver side window regulator cable snapped not long ago, i bought a repair kit online ( cables, clips etc) and then headed down to the local garage only to find "the repair kit is no good because you need new black bars aswell and the full regulator all set up".. There must be a way to replace the cables without buying the whole thing set up already as ive seen it done on youtube but im not an expert with mk4's :/.. I already have the rest of it the bars, regulator, motor etc.. If any1 around east midlands can help me please drop me a PM, ill sort some cash your way..

You don't need the bars as well, the garage is trying to make it easier for themselves to change it over

My VW kit was easy enough to fit, was about £35 a few years ago. Came with the clips, wires and the bit the cables wind into (don't know the technical name for it lol)
