try hold key in the open position this will open windows then u might open door from inside  ,sounds like a central locking module is knackered which is in the boot passenger side ....

The key wont turn to the open position as it just turns back to the lock position...also when turning the key the central locking motor engages and stays on as long as I hold the key in the open position I am worried about holding it there invade it burns out.

Any more ideas...?
