Rio photo edit, help me
« on: 02 December 2012, 21:20 »
Right, I've got this panoramic photo I took from Christ the rendeemer.

And my best edit is

My plan is for it to be edited and then me taking it to a photo printing shop and getting it printed in big, to then put in a long frame on my wall.

Anyone who is handy with PS, could you please edit it as best as you could so it looks good on paper bloated up?

I know it's not going to ever be great, as it was taken on my S3, but it's what I had on holiday, so it's the best I could do.

Here is the original sized picture (click the link, then the pic to get it in original size)

PS: remember to crop out the girl on the right hand side.

here's a guide so that you can do it yourself (assuming you've got PS).

In terms of editing the image given that it's jpeg you're not going to get stellar results as it's already 'cooked'.

if you have taken it using your phone then the results when the image is printed won't be that good, grainy

For a camera it's not bad, the stiching has worked well but there's still loads of errors due to it being a sweep for example the bridge doesn't join up, you've got ghosting on the buildings and a couple of the islands.

The method I linked to will let you enlarge the image whilst preserving most of the quality, personally I don't think I'd get it printed much bigger than A3 though as the source image simply isn't good enough IMO.
