Just make sure the distributor cap looks the same as the one already on there...I bought one from ECP and it didn't fit very well on top of my distributor, and moved about a bit. But being a bit of a newbie to cars I thought it didn't matter, however was the cause of many running problems. As far as I can tell there are 2 types of cap used on the Mk3. I bought the other one and it located firmly in place.

Well im a newbie to golfs too, but putting my reg in to ecp search engine only offered me one option, the top one in your pic and im almost certain its the same shape as i have. I had a butchers at it sunday when i changed the plugs. If its not tho ill berefund hunting. Cheers for your advice tho, most appreciated. And pics an awesome touch. Any idea where the cabin filter is to change? Lol pic would be great  :laugh:

The cabin /pollen filter is hidden beneath the scuttle tray in front of the windscreen.  Prepare to curse at the poxy plastic fixings.

Yep scuttle sits against the bottom of windscreen is in 2 pieces and access when the bonnet is up.Should have about for plastic pins that fix it in place. http://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/m8yTbTGU-MuSZ5QRcIdNZZQ.jpg .They are about the size of 10p piece and black.Looks like this .
