Mk. 20 v won't run ????????
« on: 19 January 2013, 23:07 »
Hi there ,I'm new to forum but vw Audi nut I'm just on with my mk1 20 v conversion ,engine in all piped up water, exhaust, fuel, ecu etc etc but have a problem.the car started first time  ,but there was no accelelorator response at all ,then it cut out it would start up but seemed to run for less and less time every time .now it won't start .my mechanic mate came round with his diagnostic reader (snap on)thing plugged it into the obd socket bought loads of faults up which I was expecting ,he cleared most of them no probs but the one that kept coming back was the throttle pedal position ,it was reading that the throttle was wide open when it was in closed position ,I was working the pedal while he was checking it on the reader and it wasn't reading anything,I bought the engine ,ecu ,loom ,key ,pedal everything all together job lot,I've had mk4 loom converted  so it plugs into mk1 fuse box .the guy whos done the loom does them all the time so i dont think its the loom but i'm not cancelling anything out ,he also said that he deimmobilised ????the ecu. ok guys now I'll list  cars spec ,any input would be much appreciated I' m pulling my hair out trying to get it going thanks guys

Engine code: Arz
Ecu:factory deimmobised ????
Throttle:fly by wire
Year of engine: 1999 2000
Fuel: plenty £25.00 in tank
Electrical: everything pugged as I can see
