Standard CD Player fitting
« on: 25 October 2012, 10:40 »
I have the standard tape player/radio in my MK4 and could do with a CD player but I like OEM and want all the lighting to match up in the car :nerd: so was going to purchase a single CD changer that was a factory option and put it above my tape player in the spare slot.

How does this connect to the tape player? Will I have all the wiring to just plug it in and be away or will my car be lacking anything? How do these work?

Cheers

The Gamma has a ISO and Mini ISO connectors on the back, the blue, green and yellow connectors are the Mini ISO's and the blue one of those is for the CD player/changer.

In the dash to right hand side of double din bay there should be a 2pin connector with a grey/blue and brown wire this is for illumination of the CD player/changer, if you don't have that you can buy an adaptor from VW or chop one out of car at breakers and wire it up to dimmer cct and earth.

Thanks a lot mate  I'll go and check for the wiring
