how to on heater matrix replacement?

Is there a how to on repllacing the heater matrix?

I fitted my samco hoses and the heater matrix connections just crumbled to bits :(

From what I have read it is dash and crash rail out, so major work and I know when we did the Octavia it took around 16 hours.

Haynes will always tell you to take all the dash out!

Not done a golf but on a Pug 405 it said the same thing but was told of a shortcut of jsut taking the glovebox out!
So my advice would be to start on that side and see what access you can get.

Yes the dash WILL have to come out and also the crash rail.

Remember some of the bolts for the dash are in scuttle. Also the bolts for the heater box are on the bulk head behind the engine.

Its a long old job so put aside plenty of time, but its all straight forward.  :smiley:
