Hello to You All,
This is my first visit to the forum
but, not my first GTi . My first was a Mk 1 1600 left hooker that I bought in germany in 1982 whislt with the forces over there and had great fun with that regularly drove it back and forth to England via Calais .It had a Janspeed exhaust that I got from their shop in Salisbury .My new Golf is a 93 model that I picked up for£1300 with a bit of work to be done. New tyres 205/50/15 plus 2 new bits of exhaust centre a rear , 4 new plugs and new disc's and pads all round plus the obligatory oil and filter change and the car felt almost new.
tested it back and forth to work for a few days and then down to Bristol for a clear out run ,passed that O.K.
.a few weeks later off to visit friends via Yorkshire , Stirling and finally stopping long enough to draw breath ( and a few drams ) Inverness . Back home ( sussex ) a week later and a total round trip of 1370 miles , not bad for 2 Old dears
( I'm 49ish ).
