Yep ,Well the alt would with the correct pulley  was stuck for a min ,then remembered there was a mk4 2.0 8v engine with all the right bits lurking nearby,all sorted engine is now in,driveshafts on, gears and clutch sorted ,a step closer to the dreaded wiring    and im colourblind so this will be fun
