Welding rust holes
« on: 14 September 2012, 17:49 »
Got an MOT-fail-inducing rust spot under the car.
It's about 90mm X 50mm, and near-ish the N/S sill (MOT tester said it was the seatbelt anchor point  :undecided: )

Just wondering how much people would expect on average it would cost to weld up?

Here's some pictures. I like pictures.

Tried taking one to give more of an impression of its location:

I paid £70 for welding up on both sills. So would imagine it would be around £50-60.

Depends if it has gone through and damaged the metal that the belt is fastened to or it is just the floorpan. With welding you get what you pay for so to bodge a basic patch over that it would be £25 but if all rusty metal is cut out and replaced like it should be then it would be £60 plus a bit more if metal needs replacing inside the car.
