mk4 golf 1.8t still not sorted

Hi still need some help on this problem with my gti. The car is suffering from a miss fire and serious knocking on acceleration and no knocking on no accereration or feather the throttle in slightly. I have changed the plugs coil packs ignition module cleaned the maf sensor and still no change so have come to conclusion its not getting driven no more till its done. i hope someone can help please as im at my whits end with it and have the mrs moaning so HELPPPPPP!!! lol  The car is a 98 agu still running standard apparently so any ideas will be greatful oh and the car pulled up a code of 00561 when plugged in thanks

well golf gone in turns out was head gasket and a burnt valve so having head rebuilt uprated gasket new seals and head skimmed and belt pump and tensioner so she should be like new when she comes back cant wait
