Professional opinion needed!
« on: 09 August 2012, 11:40 »
Hi guys,

Friend was driving heavy over bumps last night only to get the the end of the road to find out she had stalled.

When she tried starting the car again it wouldn't fire.

When i got up there it started then almost immediately cut out, tried starting again and it wouldn't, kept doing that quite a few times, starting then cutting out then wouldn't start.

She had the car towed back to mine to look at but just wondered where i should start looking.

Now cause she was going hard over the bumps could she have dislodged something, if so what, iv'e checked all the fuses but not relays yet, also filled up with fuel just incase.

Perhaps someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks guys

Going hard over bumps should have no effect!

What have you tried so far?
Mystic Blue Mk3 16v + Black Mk5 Gti 05 plate + Peugeot 405 Mi16

Just been out and had a quick look and it started up first time, ran for about 10 seconds then cut out you could hear a lot of clicking going on in the fuse box area so i swapped out the fuel pump relay and still did the same thing.

It did that a second time ran for about 10 seconds then cut out followed by the clicking but noticed that the oil light was flashing, could this be knock sensor issue?

Check the cable to the knock sensor and could see a slight burn mark on the cable so may have found the problem, unless this sounds like something else to anyone ill order a new sensor for her?

Cheers guys
