Lowering top mounts + cups
« on: 09 August 2012, 16:23 »
hi all, ive put a set of eibach 35mm springs on my golf mk4 tdi. i now want it lower  as a lot of people said i would. but i love the ride quality of the eibach set up. i have seen lowering top mounts from awesome gti which claim 10-15mm lower. a lot of people apparently also polo 6n (i think top mounts) ive also seen these 'lowering caps' which go between top mount and spring which  again claim another 10mm. so if i were to use a combination of the lowered caps and top mounts, would it lower the car another 20mm roughly from where it sits now? or am i way off?
thanks
dan
i think i love you.....

In theory yes, I fitted some 6N top mounts to a new Fabia last night as bizarrely it uses the same top mounts as a Mk4 golf. They definitely lowered it 10mm, I can't comment on how well the spring caps work.

Buy the polo top mounts, fit them and see how happy you are. You could always then try the spring caps.
