Hello all!
My mk2 8v failed its MOT earlier this week. on the rear wheel bearing, exhaust mounting and handbrake.
The problem is the handbrake mechanism on the rear drivers side caliper doesn't seem to adjust properly. Can it be rebuilt?
The seals and piston in the caliper must be fine, as the rear brakes work fine on the pedal, just not the handbrake.
I know a lot of people fit audi or mk3 calipers onto the rear, but I only need one, and I really can;t afford to fit them now.
I am going to take the caliper off tomorrow, to try and free it off. I'll get my dad to bring a new one home with him from work anyway, in case I need to buy one.
