« on: 15 November 2012, 18:01 »
hi all,
i am new to all this forum stuff so excuse the silly questions please, where do i find the paint code for ma dark blue golf? and will i be able to sorce it in a rattle tin?
i received my de-baged grill today and its black (meybey no notice if i do more than 30mph) and just a thought but it would be more thin £50 to get a wee bit profeshinaly done so i could try it mysel.

Your paint code should be on a decal on the boot floor, or on the identical decal stuck in the front of your service book, look for a 4 digit code
Alternatively, phone your VW dealers parts department and quote your registration number, they can tell you your paint code, and, if you want, supply the correct colour

If your new grill is in bare plastic, it will need plastic primer, this will significantly increase your spend on paint, and for the sakes of a few extra quid, the Pro job will start to look like the better option! It'll certainly be a better finish!

Can you post up a pic of your car, and also the code sticker, it sounds strange! Halford's can mix paint, and put it in aerosols, if that's any help?
