thats what i did to just got to start the polishing now and painted my bottle covers gloss black

was going to do my battery cover green and bottle covers but thought it was to much might do my battery cover in 2k gloss black and paint throttle body green as akward to polish see how it goes, sadly have another project on the go at moment the new family car thats taking all my time, only thing ive done to me golf was a polish got loads of little bits of paintwork to do on it  and needs to be serviced really, and sadly the family car is a real work horse (ford focus c max 2.0tdci what a rocket it is) so has to be all running sweet ive just done rear shocks on it as thay were shot and leaking oil, boy what a job getting lower bolts out had to get a garage to get them out for me i couldnt budge them well 3/4 out i got them still only cost me a tenner and put copper slip on them oh the joys of home mechanics to save a few quid.

if your talking about mine its polished, start with a fairly course sandpaper and rub casting marks away untill you get it smooth then get fine paper and keep going down with fine sandpaper untill really smooth then i have a polishing kit as i was into bikes and polished everything went over with a compound bar and finished with solvol autosol polish great stuff, done mine twice wasnt  happy with first go and all done in situ didnt fancy taking manifold off just cover induction if you have one and parts where alloy dust can get i took dipstick out and put a rag down it as gets in the way  and wear  a mask very bad for you aluminium dust,  i i washed of engine with a water can aswell in case of any dust elsewear, its better to polish off car but needed car at time so could take off the road, might buy a spare inlet and rocker cover to polish whilst of the car and then change over.
