1.8T catch can + header tank help.
« on: 17 May 2012, 22:11 »
Rebuilding my 1.8T soon.

Im going to be doing a semi-smooth bay.  I plan to relocate the power steering reservoir and coolant header tank.

Does anyone know of a catch can with the ports on the top and bottom.  Basically I want the can to be laid on its side, with a feed into it on the top left and exit on the bottom right (9ill draw a pic if bit confusing).

And for the coolant.  Do I really need to run a header tank?  Granted my coolant will have about 1L less coolant in it.  But would I get away with running without the header tank.  I cant see any problems with it, providing the water can follow a logical route.  Id be blanking the return off and also the feed, depending where it gets fed too.

Any help.

Chris
