Coil pack causes more of a misfire effect,  crank position creates more of a "cut out" effect, even though it comes back to life off load.

luckily i bought a CPS..
I just put the new dizzy and rotor on and she seems to rev more freely but i still have the cutting out effect so its time to put the cps on :(
Do i really need to take the oil filter off and the mount off to do this? that will mean a new filter and replacing the oil.. seems a little too much to replace a sensor as they are normally easily servicable items

Oil filter doesn't need to come off although it will give you more room. You will need to remove the front engine mount though to gain access to the single bolt holding it in.

as above - no need to remove the oil filter. (on the 8v at least)

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.

So did you change the CPS? and if so did it fix the issue?
