Heater wire

Put my heater on today and was fine for a bit but then I saw smoke from under the glove box and could smell burning had a look and the red wire that powers the heater was sparking

How do I fix this and is it an easy fix

Bit hard to internet diagnose without seeing the car but initially I'd pull out the heater fan plug, see if it was correctly on, check that the pins ok/secure and check for water etc.
See if you can manually turn the heater fan or manually power it up to prove it's not stiff/siezed - again check for water
Check your fuse incase it blew and for the correct rating

Was the motor previously noisy before?
Ideally if you can take pictures of any parts which you suspect are faulty then post them up. Can't say if it's an easy fix at all at this stage. This could have had a more serious result if you didn't notice and react in time so bear that in mind when working on the car

That wire corrodes due to water dripping it on,  it drips from a leak from the scuttle pannel area, sometimes the leak is so small you never notice, just enough to get it damp and corrode,  take the 3 stage resistor module out, and inspect the pins, they will likely be corroded, clean or replace if they are burnt,  then its a case of stripping the wire back to where its clean and not melted and popping a new crimp spade terminal on, you may want to add a bit of wire if it needs cutting short.
