throttle body question
« on: 04 June 2005, 20:37 »
hello everyone
i am in the process of building a 2l with 16v KR head and have a question regarding the throttle body. a guy at work has just put a throttle body on his 1.8 16v corrado from a porsche 924 or 944 with one large butterfly instead of two. Now my question is are these any good or do use lose torque with them or have any other problems with them? He said, but was unsure, that you could get them on certain golfs or something similiar? is this true? as i wouldn't mind changing mine to one. Or if i cant get that someone said an audi 2.2 throttle body was also good. Is this true? any feedback would be gratefully recieved

cheers  ryan

you probably gain torque. i think the small throttle is simply for economical driving

actuallt it probably does f**k all, cos when your fully pushing the accelerator and both the throttles are openm, you have only got the casting between the two holes resisting the air as opposed to the porche one. i doubt it will make that much difference and id rather have the option of driving a bit slower and cheaper sometimes
