Exhaust(ed)
« on: 29 September 2003, 22:01 »
My exhaust is leaking big time from the front and centre boxes so gunna have to replace the majority of the system! Any one got any recommendations for a new system or just a straight replacement? Or a modified front section with a standard back box? I know at the end of the day its up to me but just want some views and opinions of fellow drivers! Its Mk2 8v Gti by the way!

I have a Scorpion system on my 16v and it's fine.  Sounds good to (not to loud but deep and rumbly).  But I expect someone is about to dis' this part of my car shortly though!

Scorpion are one of the best, along with jetex supersprint and sebring. I would fit a stainless system as its gonna last longer then the life of the car and an aluminised system isnt that much cheaper.

If money is tight see if you can get one secondhand from the classifieds.

I,ve got the 8Valve gti engine in mine, its a '92 so I think they are the same engines (correct me if I'm wrong)
But I had a mongoose centre pipe and back box fitted, it was custom shaped for the fitting, but the bore of the pipe is huge and has made a marked improvement in the performance. I had a power-flow end put on the pipe instead of the mongoose one, looks very nice - single pipe about 3.5" with a carbon fibre wrap. Sounds very sweet too.
I don't own this anymore - I just can't be arsed to change the picture
