Cylinder head bolts
« on: 31 May 2005, 18:51 »
Hi,
Anyone out there know where I can get the splined tool for removing my mk2 gti (8v) head bolts from ? I understand I need a '12 mm splined tool' , unless I've been incorrectly informed. Halfords etc don't have 'em, around my area, and one of their 'assistants' told me it's a specialist part.
Cheerz.

Had a good look, but they've only torx and star bits in both my local Halfords. Even dared to ask an 'assistant' - the only one I could find, a young girl smokin' in the doorway - now I didn't expect much, but the sulky shrug and 'fcuk you' attitude was somethin' else! Good ta know ya can rely on Halfords for friendly advice!

You can buy em from Halfords, but I had to buy a whole set for £20 as they didn't have the size I needed seperate.  I was in a hurry though so had to bite the bullet!  Take one of your new headbolts with you next time and get someone to open the tool cabinet :)
