the vr6 box started to crunch in 2nd gear at high rev changes with clutch to the floor!

its does it quite a few times and i was getting concerned that if it continues it could screw the box
altogether!
the last time it crunched it sounded bad..... i've been meaning to change the oil.........

i asked mates boss if his seat leon cupra crunched in 2nd and funny enough he said it did !!
so i got some castrol smx-s 70w-90 GL4 gear oil from halfords cost me £10.99 each 2 bottles! but its the best
£22 i've spent....... if it can save my gearbox from going in the near future its well worth it!!

it took me ages to get it in as the fill plug is on the front of the box and with the bottle being big i
couldnt tilt it up enough, and i threw the small gear oil bottles away which i had!! so i had to use a bit of hose pipe!!

but as soon as i got in and started it i moved the the stick it felt really smooth changing gears i'm sure there was an immediate difference!!

on driving its ace its really smooth but its still a little a funny how the cable change is you have to put it in gear twice sometimes! but its a hell of alot better i've been giving it a right thrash at traffic lights and its not crunched yet...... mates bro has a polo 1.4 and his gear change is stiff and it crunches in reverse!

i told him and he had a go and said wow thats nice that is!

i'm really pleased with it! i thought i'd share it with you and its been a couple of days testing it and
it really good oil..... castrol smx-s 75w-90 gl4....... 10/10 its the best gear oil i've come across!!

i also re greased the cables aswell.....cant let taky crap try it on can we!!
since doing the gear oil a nova tried it on at some lights.......
he hit the limiter in 1st and 2nd sounded like it was going to blow up! he was changing gear really fast and missed 2nd  he did just about get passed me while hitting the roundabout.... i let him get infront blue smoke was coming out of it and he fcuked off left! i dont think it could have raced much longer if he'd have gone straight on!!

it was a 2.0 16v engine in the nova a 1.6 wouldnt have gone that fast!

even though i've replaced the cam sensor something still wrong as with 3 people in lastnight it wasnt going anywhere very crap accelerator responce! but the other night it was really moving!!
but i'll get it fixed...........

at least my gears arnt crunching!
