Roof lining reupholstery?
« on: 26 March 2012, 17:29 »
Hi all

I have a sagging rooflining in my mk2.  I have tried sticking it up but I think it's past it's best!  I have been on the lookout for a replacement with none close enough to travel to thus far.  Question is, has anyone tried removing the rooflining from the car, taking the material off and reupholstering? Could this be a viable repair? I figure if it is knackered and has to be removed anyway,it may be worth trying this?

Thanks in advance

Pedro

More info please  where you got the lining from, which glue you used, how you stretched it to fit tightly etc....

Thanks

3M glue is usually a good bet.

Material can be bought off ebay or the like, just make sure it's flame retardant.

You don't own a Mk2, you support it.
