Mk3 Golf juddering problem
« on: 12 March 2012, 23:31 »
I recently bought a Mk3 2.0L GTI 8V. It seems to have a problem tho. When i accelerate it judders / stutters, but does rev through it eventually. If i put my foot flat to the floor there is no problem at all and it accelerates fine. I really have no idea what it is. It just had new dizzy cap, rotor arm, leads, plugs and fuel filter.

The only thing i can think or is it has a Vento air box, but still cant see how this would be causing such a problem. Any help much appreciated.

Thanks!!

check all your ignition. prob coil pack is on its way out. it's mounted to the bulkhead near the water bottle. Also check all of your vacuum hoses. one of them may have collapsed or split.

Check the timing, too.

Or an unbalanced propeller.

Check it doesn't have any rope wrapped around it.

Does it happen around the 3k rpm mark by any chance?? Disconnect your MAF and go for a drive. You will know instantly if you have a dodgy one. It may cut out before long, but if it feels like a different car, thats your problem.
