Just thought i'd introduce myself! I've always wanted a Golf GTi and had always admired my 2nd Cousins Mk4 example. Sadly I have now inherited the car and I don't think she'd mind me saying it's had it's first bit of TLC since new!!
It's a 2.0L 8v example and has so far covered 190,000 miles. It's been cosmetically abused so today I gave it a wax up with my Maguirs yellow wax and it's come out ok. Next to take on the dents and scratches!
I know the 2.0 gets a hard time but so far i'm really impressed with the solid drive, not the fastest car in the world but with a young family and fuel prices I don't need that.
