but lately everyone has been saying I should of went samsung :S

Bet they all have the Samsung  same as if you ask an average iPhone user what phone to get, it's what they knew and will recommend, which is why I said to have a play with both and see which you prefer  I prefer HTC's polished interface on Android to the more boring TouchWiz Samsung have.

Still really leaning towards a Win Phone 7 (or  later this year 8?) for the beautiful integration with Windows 8

Anyone tried one of the new Windows phones?

Just got rid of my HTC Sensation and got the Nokia Lumia 710 and even though its the cheaper of the two Lumia's i'm very impressed. Very simple to use and oh so very smooth compared to Android, would recommend if your fancy a change from IOS or Android.

My Sensation was a right pain, always losing the network signal, crashing/resetting and the sound quality was quite poor for a flagship phone.

HTC, NEVER AGAIN!

Now the Samsung GS2 that my missus has in white, thats a different story, blows the Sensation out of the water.

So your saying get the s2? I still have time to change my mind, I went for the special edition XE sensation which has a 1.5ghz dual core and the beats stuff... but lately everyone has been saying I should of went samsung :S

Well ultimately its your choice so as Jay said try the HTC and see what you think. Think you have seven days in which to return the phone so try it out for a couple of days, try and go and look at the S2 in a couple of shops and compare them.

In my opinion though the S2 is a better all round phone, much slicker through the menu's and the screen makes the Sensation's screen look all washed out.

If your looking for something fresh and different though ,seriously check out the new Window's phones e.g Nokia Lumia 800/710.

Review wise the XE seems like a brilliant phone and supposedly better for gaming and superior to the s2. Yet benchmark results point otherwise :/

What is the new window phones like, I use to have the early version of windows mobile, then a HTC with 6.0 and then 6.5, it was ok and they had tethering options really early compared to the other mobile OS's. But the biggest flaw I found with windows phones  was costomization and lack of software/market which really let it down. Not sure how the new win7 is? Also when is the 8 bizyness happening?

Still cant decide between the XE and S2, XE is cheaper plus free headphones, s2 is more in price. Spec wise they are very similar, where one fails the other suceeds. Maybe this should become a poll thread.

Benchmarks are not everything, I could if I wanted overclock my phone and use another hack to make benchmarks show off the scale results for my 2 year old model - but the phones it beats in the benchmarks would still outpace it for most things

Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) is out and it's cool, it is a really slick OS and on a few different hand sets,  the most popular being the Nokia Lumia 800. Windows 8 will be out later this year, end of August is my guess and I'm hoping MS release Windows Phone 8 then - I've had the cheek to email Steve Ballmer (the guy who actually runs MS and has done for the last 10+ years!) asking what the integration was going to be like in Win8 with all the MS services, SkyDrive, Messenger, Hotmail etc etc and he replied with "Agree with much of this   you will see action   thanks"

Well if customizing your phone is a priority, Mango 7.5 wouldn't float your mk3, still very basic in that department although the live tiles kind of make up for that.

Think there is no tethering on the Lumia's though, strange.

Got the HTC XE, out the box the build quality is superb.

Here it is with my work blackberry cr@p, HTC XE and LG GT540 (CM7 600mhz):

Need to get a screen protector and a better case for it, first impressions are quite good, only thing that through me off is it only has 100mb ram left over from running the os, but once ICS becomes main stream a few months in I'll root it and go CM9.

The build quality of HTC products has ways been a massive drawing factor for me, they just feel like they're going to last, which going by the abuse my last 3 HTC handsets have endured its a definite.
