Whether it was on its way out or not you would expect respect from them for your property as a matter of decency. Then for him to turn round and blame the car because its old, in a rude manner too..... If you have a position where you have to deal with customers then you should have manners...simple.
I'd send them an old fashioned letter as already mentioned, making sure you have names and photos!

+1. Letter, with pictures of handle, and the name of the tyre fitter. They might not pay for your damages, but they will probably give the guy a warning, as by the sounds of it he is a rude cnut.

It isn't the fact that they are hard to pick up/fit..................It's the fact he was very rude and didn't even say sorry, and then for his monkey
to start opening and closing the passenger door stating that 'look this is how a door handle works!!! what a NOB!
Yes I have e-mailed a complaint along with pictures to head office

I've recently done the same with my drivers handle, it became so stiff, i yanked at it and it came off about half an inch. i can still open my door with care but anyone else trying to open it would pull it straight off. i have 2 more on the car the same so i will get greasing them before anymore come off:)
