Suction Jet Pump?
« on: 14 December 2011, 13:36 »

hello Peeps,

Need some help big style here, Appreciate your time if you can.

Fault code appeared on the trusty Golf today (17705) reading into this online. Looks like I need to replace a Suction Jet Pump?  trouble is after speaking with the stealers, they say they cant find anything under this name. I quoted an american part number and the only thing they can relate it to will cost nearly £60!!!

Anybody know if it is this part that needs to be replaced and if so, can I get it anywhere?

Cars a 1.8t AUM 52 reg, running a little rough.

Cheers Guys!

17705 is boost leak, could be loads of places, including the sjp.

Need to pressure test it really.

Dont hold your breath it is a nightmare to find

As said get a smoke test done - check the pancake pipe. Is it running the standard recirculating valve? These are prone to crack and cause a leak

All Standard..., Only had it a short time. Was going to get a re map in the new year. So lucky this has come now!

I will have a look at the DV this weekend. Are there any tell tale signs?

Worthwhile popping the bonnet and having a look yourself first.

But yeah, 17705 is fun to eliminate. Good luck.

Check the small vacuum pipe on top of the recirculating valve as these go brittle and snap
