Mine did this last year, retaining plate had rusted through relaesing top mount to push through housing.
Mine punched through mid corner firing the shelf up into the back of the car and made me sh!t my pants as the rear end stepped out a little :lipsrsealed:
I had put the clonking down to my exhaust pipe knocking for weeks before hand :sick:

lol benifits of hottunning.....theyre so hard only really noticed on mine when the parcel shelf was moving up and down while driving LOL!!! shows how stiff they are LOL!

They were assembled incorrectly!!  :shocked: There is a little bush that sits on a shoulder on the damper rod to stop it pushing past the top spring seat and it wasn't fitted. I found it embedded in the remains of the bumpstop on the offside and on the nearside it was nowhere to be seen!
I also wound the coilovers up 30mm and the car is 100% nicer to drive. No bounciness and it doesn't even look any higher  :laugh:
