Mk2 golf not starting after gearbox change
« on: 27 November 2011, 03:11 »
hi there was wondering if you could help me with a problem..
i have a 1.3 mk2 golf 89

i just changed the gearbox on it,
and now the car doesnt want to fire up, ignition lights like the oil come on but the battery light one doesnt come on at all and stays off
and when i turn the key off, the fuel gauge stays on and so does the handbrake light.. it then cuts out a few mins later..

i also cant hear the starter spining either, what could be possibly wrong..??

Try doubling the earth cable its the best thing as a fail safe due to oxidising!
The best substitue cable I've used is off a corrado they are much thicker and better insulated!
