MK4 1.8t doesn't want to start?

I just replace the fuel pump because the last one was leaking and now the thing doesn't want to start.
I check if its the new pump but it works fine.
When I pess the starter button it sound like it is just sapping power from the battery, anyone know what it is?

have you got the flow and return pipes the right way around?its simple but easily doable. yes i even did it myself but on the engine end
