There was a MK1 Golf GTI in white in a tesco car park near me that had caught fire somehow the owner tried to put it out but failed just saw it a few days later cut in half on a trailer had all original body styling and alloys and was immaculate ....  owner must be gutted

I'm guessing your  after saying it caught fire was a mistake....

Sad times.... It just enforces the point that classic cars should always have extinguishers on board....
