Using (or trying to!) an SD Card in an RNS 510 C
« on: 02 November 2011, 22:01 »
Hi, can anyone provide me with an idiots guide on how to get the RNS to read/play files from an SDHC Card?

I have so far formatted the SDHC Card (8GB) on FAT 32 and then just copied and pasted c 100 songs from I Tunes to the card. The files shown up on my PC as MPEG4 files.

When the card is inserted to the RNS it says it is reading the card and then nothing happens and the CD or IPOD keeps playing.

Any advice much appreciated - I am not overly IT literate so go easy

Andysam,

It won't play MP4 files; so in iTUNES right click on the files and select 'Create MP3 version.' Then find those MP3's in your PC folder structure and copy those to the SD card. They should play fine.

Duncan.
sssh; it's 'only a diesel'; but i love it!

Thanks for your advice Keith and Duncan - I shall try converting my files later and see how we go.
