In Germany
« on: 22 September 2003, 18:41 »
On the thread Top Speed, various writers are saying what speed they had out of their cars.

I propose that anyone admitting a speeding offence in a PUBLIC forum, precedes their sentence with one of the following:

1)  "When I was in Germany on the Autobahn......"

2) "My mates car....."

3) "I heard of someone who....."

So for instance, the sentence:

"I did 140 in my Golf"

becomes:

"My mates Golf did 140"

or

"When I was in Germany on the Autobahn I did 140 in my Golf"

Although I'm approaching this subject in a vaguely humourous way, I am VERY serious.

There are way too many Fun Police around and I don't want to see this Forum plastered over http://news.bbc.co.uk sometime in the near future.

We are an easy target for a member of the Fun Police to take a pot shot at.

Just remember the Japanese gentleman who filmed his F40 at 198, and then sold 10,000 copies of it. It only took 1 copy to fall into the hands of the Police.

Regards,
Tinman

I think a few tell-tale signs on police cars are that
a. they are never more than 3 years old
b. the number plates do not have any advertising at the bottom
c. aerials
d. extra interior mirrors
e. big blue lights on the top ;)
obviously dont rely on this list completly, but if anyone else has any tips then feel free to impart them.
However, as we are all careful. law-abiding drivers, this is for information purposes only.
A.
I don't own this anymore - I just can't be arsed to change the picture
