lowering car but how low ?

just woundering how low to go on my golf gti show me your thinking of going 35mm but need to know what it looks like :undecided: thanks

Will look loads better with a 35mm / 40mm drop.

You will need a set of spring compressers for a start. New top mounts are a must imo too. Other than that, its pretty straight forward as long as you can get the old nuts off. Oh and cover the coilie threads in copper slip if you want to wind them up or down again in the future, as they will get covered in dirt and salt and you will just end up stripping the threads.  :sick:

Hi thinking of lowering my mk4 and had been advised against coilovers unless I want to feel every single bump and small stone on the rubbish UK roads  :grin:. What lowering springs did you get and how much? were they an arse to fit??

hi mate got them off ebay they are performance 3000 cost £55 and free postage as for fitting them easy mate

Nothing wrong with coilovers unless you buy the cheapo ones. I run my Bora on coilovers and it's very comfy and I don't really feel the bumps any worse than on the standard suspension set up.

Stupid question but is that £55 for a full set for the car or £55 per axel??
