basic advice please

ive just ran a power cable through the car going to a split box (or whatever you call the things) to power to amps do i need to put a fuse somewhere along the power cable from either the think cable or the 2 going from splitter to the amps

also where on the battery do i connect the power


please help me

if your runnning wire from the battery to the boot into a power distributer then put an inline fuse close to the battery i think about 20 amps 8 gauge to 60 amps for 0 gauge

put the fuse anywhere under the bonnet. it's to kill the big power cable if you crash and the wire is pinched so it touches metal. the fuse blows instead of a fire starting. Closer the battery the better.

If you can afford to it's also good to put another fuse inside the car as there is still power that side in the event of a crash.

as for connecting to your battery try and attach it straight to the terminal.

by split box I think you mean distribution block. single 4 gauge in and 4x 8 gauges out is common.
