cheers for the replies guys

use Acid pro only on the windows side of things so its not a huge problem having to re boot into windwows to use it when i need to

new bootcamp sounds good tho (it is brand new mac book pro iv bought)

Yup. The new version will just be an update that you will have to download im sure.

You will have the same macbook as me, its pretty good to be fair.

I havnt bought the £20 Lion upgrade yet, seen mixed reviews but cant see any benifit.

Using Win8 Developers Preview (this is PRE_BETA) and it's excellent. No real bugs I've come across it's really cool, very different. Got it running in a Virtual Box too, 'cos I has not spare puters

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

You can easily get a better audio editor than Soundforge, Audacity isn't bad for free, but if you're serious about making music, it's worth getting something professional.
You can now get Adobe Audition for Mac. It's a good audio editor and multitrack recorder. http://www.adobe.com/products/audition.html
Download the trial and see how you like it. (As with many Adobe trials, there are ways to keep them going )
