re-worked cams?
« on: 13 September 2011, 16:38 »
mk4 1.8 20v non-turbo

some of you in the mk4 section might have noticed im looking at ideas to improve bhp, to which ive come to a few dead ends, im looking at trying to get around 140bhp (my alfa gtv coupe was 150bhp but would like the golf quicker)

i enquired into kent cams but with a price of £450, i cant afford it, so is it possible to get my current cams reworked? theres a company local who i know a few people have used called autosprint in coleshill

opinions?

cheers

I have used them before for re-grinding ABF cams and they are certainly cheap but having not run the cams yet I couldnt comment on the quality of their work. They have also been going for as long as I have been reading car mags so they must be doing something right. I wasnt particularly happy with the spec and setup sheet they sent with the cams btw.

reworked cams can be a very effective and compartivly cheep mod.  works out much cheeper on the 16v's
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
