Monza advice please
« on: 31 August 2011, 14:15 »
Woke up Saturday morning to find some swine had done this. Looks like bike pedals to me as they've also hit the wheel arch and a bit of the front bumper.

Bodywork damage looks fairly minor in comparison, I'm more concerned about if I can do anything with this or it's a new wheel. If it's a new wheel what are my chances of just buying one?? Thanks in advance.

Diamond cut wheels are refurbish able and depending on how bad (deep) it is it can be refurbished. Lepsons have been used by many people on here and have never heard a bad word said about them. They appear to do an excellent job.

Not sure on price as I havent used them, pretty sure it isnt cheap. Give them a bell for a quote.

I've just had some refurbished by Lepsons and must say they have done a excellent job apart from some tiny tiny spots on the diamond cut bits under the laquer (only notice if you look really close).

As for price they charge £50+vat each to the trade, not sure on joe public.

+1 Lepson's never used them but have alway heard good things about them especially with regard to repairing diamond cut monza's.

I bet your feel like running over the next person you see on a bike

Daft question time:

When anyone is having a wheel refurb'd do the repairers provide a 'spare' or do we need to rely on the space-saver in the boot?

Appreciate the replies fellas. Wouldn't suppose anybody knows of an equally highly rated, more northerly alternative? I'm in Manchester.

A1 Wheels in the Midlands have done loads of Mk V Monza's

Just do a search on the Mk V forums - lots of happy customers :-

Ava, Lepsons in swindon do provide a spare set of wheels but make sure you pre book them! They did my monza's and did a top class job, unfortunatley not at the trade price quoted above, but still not bad IMHO, they have punter prices on their website
