differences between gt tdi and anniversary models

Hi

wondering if anyone can help.

I am looking into buying a diesel golf.  In an ideal world id like to buy an anniversary model however as they are rare, finding a reasonabley priced one is proving difficult.

I have come across a couple of gt tdi's, 150bhp ones that are a few grand cheaper than the anniv models.  Now obviously, i know the anniv models have bodykit, 18's, recaro seats etc.  What i want to know is if there is any difference in the suspension and brakes etc, basically the bits that arent glaringly obvious as i may go for a normal gt gtdi model and then spend some of the money saved on wheels etc.

all comments/experience on both these cars are welcome

interior is totally different, anni has black headlining, aluminium trim etc.. it also has bigger brakes but i think the suspension is still the vw sports suspension that you get on the pd150 gt tdi's

being a special edition the anni will also depreciate slightly less.. to be honest i think they're worth paying the extra couple of k's for

I don,t know the difference between em,Topher  has enlightened me thru his thread.When i bought my 04 pd 150 I was offered the Anni for £2500 extra.i turned it down and I'm very happy with my motor,but there is a nagging "what if" running around my deiselhead. ...If you come across one and can stretch ur budget do it!!!!!

since i have one, its got the following

aluminium bits round the dash
golf ball gear knob
red trim round the steering wheel
recaro seats front and rear
aluminium pedals
BBS 18" wheels which are a waste of time because they rust 
blacked out front headlamps
body kit
bigger brakes
climate control
6cd changer
smaller wing mirrors apparently

i think thats it, apart from the brakes i don't think there is any other peformance difference in the cars. i should point out that anni fuel consumption is not as good as the normal pd150 because the wheels increase the inertia in the drivetrain thus lose performance.

i took a normal gt tdi for a spin today, blimey, there fairly nippy aint they, i was shocked.  i currently own a v6 vectra which i thought pulled well but i reckon the golf pulls even better  :embarassed:

shame the deisel golfs doesnt sound as well as a v6 tho, lol
