should be fine but check into your dads entitlement for the weight, ive got a pre 1997 licence and i noticed it wasnt on when i got my licence back from dvla after sending it away for its psv entitlement.
even when i gave my old trailer to scrap men to take away they had to empty it and chuck it in the wagon cos he couldnt drive with it on
