RCD310 code
« on: 23 August 2011, 15:01 »
Can someone please tell me where I can find code for RCD310. All I have is a plastic key fob with bunch of numbers on it and assume that code is there somewhere.

Thanks

If you can slide your unit out it's possible it is written on it somewhere.

If your talking about the radio code they don't supply it like they used to, contact the dealer if you want it I did?

As Kieth says you have to contact a VW dealer and have proof of ownership before they will supply you with the code.

Oh I forgot to mension the plastic tag on the keys with the numbers on DON'T loose it?

Some say its the SKC code but I don't think so as the dealer never knows/sees the SKC number its probably the key number?

When I picked mine up I asked for the radio code and they said they aren't supplied anymore as users just leave them in the car and thieves can read. I said well its my new car with radio I want it just in case the battery goes flat or its disconnected.

They said it doesn't matter if you disconnect the battery as the radio code is logged in the ecu when you connect up the battery the ecu checks the radio and if it matches it carries on working. You only need the code if you fit the radio in another car or sell it to someone? They gave me my radio code.
