Also, why put the 8v engine from a mk3 in when it only gains 3 ponies? Are the low-down torque figures even more earth-shattering than the mk2?

2.0 bottom end was all the rage when ABF's were not 2 a penny, worth doing if you have a Mk3 rusting away somewhere......
No Cat+260 CAM and 4 branch makes for quite a bit of punch in the light MK2.
Got to love a white MK2, prefer small bumpers with 16v Brake ducts :cool:
