Got VAG-COM but it only works in 1 module

Hi, I just bought a lead that was supplied with sharware VAG-COM. I've installed the latest shareware VCDS-Lite from the official site and tried it on my Mk5 GTI with limited success. It passes the test OK and it will communicate OK with the DSG module but all other modules just give a "failed to communicate" message. I dont want to pay for the full license until I can get it communicating properly (as advised in the documentation).

Has anyone else had this or know how to resolve it? I'm pretty handy with PC's but I've spent hours arsing about with this with no luck!

I think I've answered my own question! I found a comment from the software author on another forum where he states that this version will not work reliably on Vista. It was written for XP. Bugger! You have to shell out $250 for a version supported on Vista and it's not worth that to me.
