Help, problems after lowerin my mk3 golf gti
« on: 12 April 2005, 17:48 »
can anyone help? hav encountered problems after recently fitting a jamex sportsline suspension kit (shocks n springs) to my 97 gti, which currently has 17" kahn 205x40, in order to drop the ride height approx 30mm. firstly it seems to be sittin a hell of alot lower on the back compared to the front, secondly the top plate which the retaining nut screws onto and draws the plate to body of car, constantly rides high leaving a gap between body and said strut plate, therefore its not sittin flush anymore. lastly the wheels now seem to catch and rub under the car on regular occassions, even when cornering at low speeds and overcoming small bumps in the road. The original dampers from the standard suspension which i took off were re-used as they were still in good order. I've no idea why it's doing this or how to solve it, would appreciate your thoughts on the matter. Has anyone encountered similar problems?
Cheers

are you sure the top plates are the right way up? Not done my suspension yet so not sure what the set up is but aren't the plates domed? if they were upside down, they'd not sit flush and they'd make the front look higher. just a guess.
